“Grace”

“Grace”
Grace’s mother, “Glory” was rescued by The Detroit Equestrian Club in November 2007 from a farm near the UP. Within a couple of months, Glory began to show signs of being in foal. Christopher phoned the former owners to ask what kind of foal she was having. They told him that they didn’t even know that Glory was pregnant and that the only possible sire that they could think of is a Paint pony stallion that was on the property with her.
"Grace" was born on Friday March 28, 2008 at around 11pm here at The DEC and she is said to be the first foal born within the Detroit city limits in the past 30 years. Grace's mother is a believed to be a hackney pony. Grace shows no Paint markings, so the breed of the sire is still unconfirmed.
During the Spring Classic Horse Show at
The DEC, Christopher led Glory and Grace into the arena and explained to
the spectators Glory and Grace's background and told everyone that he has
decided to raffle off Grace, with all of the proceeds going to The Hang On
to the Dream Foundation, a national, 501 (c) 3, non-profit organization
that Christopher started 4 years ago. The HOTTDF sponsors kids from all around the country by
supplying them with needed money, equipment and/or opportunities in an
effort to help them reach their goals in life.
